We strive to help kids connect to Jesus! We want to lay a foundation where kid's first impressions of God and His love for them is shown by how we love them in the nursery, preschool, and elementary classes. We offer creative environments for kids to learn about God's love. We want to educate and partner with parents in helping them be the primary spiritual leaders in their homes. We offer take-home activities, resources, and classes to help parents pass down their faith. We cannot wait to partner with your family to help make your kids into disciples that will make the disciples of the future.

2nd-3rd Grade
Sunset Bible Camp
Summer camp for students going into 2nd-3rd grade next year. Our Catch Phrase: His Race, Don't Quit, My Race, Share Grace. It takes quite a bit of effort and commitment to train. But just like Olympians don't quit, we don't quit. Even if it's hard. Sharing Grace is just as important as growing/training yourself. The Great Commission is for all Christians...not just adults.

Sunday Morning Experience
Kid's Ministry
What's it like?
Each weekend your child will experience worship in two different formats. Our 9:00 am service runs like a traditional Sunday School. Kids will experience Biblical teaching and activities through live teaching. Our 10:30 am service is designed to engage kids through worship, teaching through videos, and small group experiences with caring volunteers. Every element of our weekend services is designed to help your child dive into God’s Word, be encouraged, and have a great time!
Your kids will start their experience:

At the check-in area, your child is given a numbered security name tag. This name tag matches a security tag you are given. In the event you're needed a text may be sent to your cell phone your security number will be displayed on the screen.

At pick-up time, present your child’s matching security tag to the volunteer at the classroom door. For safety reasons, we ask that you drop off and pick up your child outside the door of the classroom.

What's it like?
Each week during the Fall and Spring semesters your kids will experience a variety of teachings (live and video) in large and small groups, be challenged to memorize scriptures, pray together, and complete weekly homework. Your children can earn Oakwood Kids points and use them at our rewards store. We believe our midweek program helps kids deepen their faith. Check-in and pick-up procedures are the same as Sunday mornings.
Our volunteers have been strategically placed by an application and background check process to care for your kids. Our volunteers have a heart for children and want to help kids take the next steps in a relationship with Jesus.

A parent has 936 weeks between a child's birth and graduation. We don't want you to miss what's happening during the critical phases of your child growing up. So, we have a phase wall strategically located in our children's check-in area. On the phase wall are free cards and pamphlets for parents to take and read. We also have a bookshelf with parent resources and books for purchase. We want to come alongside parents and help influence them to lead their kids and family to honor God.

FAMILY SUNDAYS
We have strategic Sundays set up where elementary kids sit with their parents during the 10:30 am service. The 9:00 am service always has programming for all kids, every week. We want kids to know they have a place in the bigger community of Oakwood. Our hope is that one day they will grow up and choose a church family of their own. Family Sundays ensure they have the opportunity to experience the body of Christ, experience worship together as a family, observe communion, hear testimonies of God's transforming work, and witness baptisms. We offer children's bulletins during this service that helps teach the sermon's point or main verse.
