Burly Men's Conference 2026
*WINTER WEATHER UPDATES*

We have been advised by emergency service personnel to cancel the Burly Men’s Conference scheduled for this weekend due to predicted worsening winter weather conditions. This was not a decision made lightly. After much prayer and consultation, we believe this is the most responsible choice to prioritize the safety of everyone traveling to and from the event. While we were greatly looking forward to gathering together, your well-being must come first.
We are truly disappointed that we will not be able to share this weekend with you as planned, and we appreciate your understanding. If you would still like a refund, you can call the office at 580-233-1225 or email office@myoakwood.org to make your request.
Please know that we are praying for each of you—that you remain safe through the weather, and that God continues to work in your lives even in this unexpected change. We look forward to the opportunity to gather together again in 2027!
Looking ahead, mark your calendars for January 22 & 23, 2027! We can't wait to see you next year! Also, mark your calendars for October 9 & 10, 2026! We will be hosting our first-ever Oakwood Women's Conference!

We are closely monitoring the weather and have spoken directly with the Enid Assistant City Manager, who has assured us that all main roads in town will be maintained, with snow trucks running continuously until snowfall stops.
We fully understand and respect your decision not to travel in unsafe weather conditions. If you do not plan to attend and would like to inquire about a partial refund, please contact the church office directly at (580) 233-1225. Also, please make sure that you call and cancel your hotel reservation! We will not be contacting the hotels.
Please know that we are praying for safe travel for every man coming to and from the conference, and that each man who attends will be encouraged, challenged, and moved in a meaningful way this weekend.

2026 Burly Conference Speaker
Matt Proctor
President of Ozark Christian College
In high school, Matt Proctor was a National Merit finalist who enrolled at the University of Iowa as a journalism major. But after hearing God’s call, he transferred to Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri. Now instead of broadcasting the bad news, he’s proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Matt has served as a youth minister, preaching minister, Bible college professor and is now president of Ozark Christian College. He was the president of the 2013 North American Christian Convention and he serves as a contributing editor for Christian Standard magazine. His writing includes two books, Finish-Line Faith and Victorious. He enjoys reading, cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals, and traveling widely to preach about Jesus. Matt is especially grateful to God for his wife Katie and their six children—Luke, Lydia, Clara, Carl, Conrad and Caroline.
Travel and Accommodation
We have a block of rooms reserved for the Burly Men's Conference at local hotels. We have filled up two hotels so far and now have a third hotel we are booking with for Burly.
If you are needing a room, please call the La Quinta Inn and Suites. Please make sure you let them know that you will be attending the Burly Men's Conference so they will give you the special group rate.
If you call and they tell you there are no rooms available, please call our church office at (580) 233-1225 and we will have them add more rooms to our reservation block.
